The challenge
Corporate venture arms sit on a paradox: they need to evaluate hundreds of opportunities to find the few that matter, but their teams are smaller than the deal flow demands. Adding headcount is slow and expensive. Letting opportunities slip is worse. The question was whether AI could expand the surface area of what the team could realistically review without compromising the rigor of the diligence.
What we built
Custom systems for inbound deal screening, public-data enrichment on prospects, and structured comparison against the fund's investment criteria. The team was alerted to opportunities that fit, with the relevant context already gathered, so analyst time went directly to judgment rather than data collection. Confidential information stayed contained, and the human partner remained the decision-maker on every investment.
"Coverage area grew without growing the team."
The outcome
More opportunities reviewed, faster initial sorting, and more analyst time spent on the deals that actually warranted deep work. The team's effective coverage area grew without growing the team.
